5. Saita

The SANSUI SUR-1 can be powered by either the included AC adapter or six (6) Size D dry cell batteries (sold separately).

For optimal FM reception, ensure the FM antenna located on the rear panel is extended and positioned correctly. For AM reception, the unit has a built-in antenna, but rotating the unit may improve signal strength.

  • To turn on the radio, rotate the Power/Volume knob clockwise until you hear a click.
  • Continue rotating the knob clockwise to increase the volume, and counter-clockwise to decrease it.
  • To turn off the radio, rotate the Power/Volume knob counter-clockwise until you hear a click.

6.2 Tuning to FM/AM Radio

  1. Turn on the radio using the Power/Volume knob.
  2. Use the Band Selector switch to choose either "FM" or "AM".
  3. Slowly rotate the Tuning Dial to scan for radio stations. The frequency will be indicated on the analog display.
  4. Adjust the FM antenna for best FM reception. For AM, try rotating the entire unit.

The radio supports Wide FM (76-108MHz) and FM stereo, as well as AM (531-1629KHz).

6.3 Playing Pre-recorded Showa Channels

The SUR-1 features 8 channels of pre-recorded nostalgic content. To access these:
