2.1. Shigar da Baturi
The DR-40 operates on 3 AAA batteries. To install, open the battery compartment located on the back of the device. Insert the batteries according to the polarity indicators and close the compartment securely.

2.2. Shigar Katin SD
The device records to SD/SDHC/SDXC cards. A 2GB card is typically included. Locate the SD card slot on the side of the recorder. Gently insert the SD card until it clicks into place. To remove, push the card in slightly until it springs out.

2.3. Kunnawa / Kashewa
Press and hold the power button to turn the device on or off. The LCD screen will illuminate upon startup.

3.1. Recording Modes
The DR-40 supports various recording modes:
- 4-Track Recording: Simultaneously record from the built-in microphones and external mic inputs.
- Rikodi Biyu: Captures a safety track at a lower level to prevent distorted takes, ensuring a usable backup.
- Rikodin Sitiriyo: Utilizes the built-in microphones or two external inputs for stereo capture.
3.2. Microphone Configuration
The built-in microphones can be switched between X-Y and A-B positions to adjust the stereo field and capture different acoustic perspectives.
