4. Sprouting Process

Follow these steps to grow your own fresh sprouts:

  2. Initial Rinse and Drain: After soaking, attach the mesh lid securely to the jar. Invert the jar over a sink to drain the soaking water. Rinse the seeds thoroughly by filling the jar with fresh water through the mesh lid, swirling gently, and then draining again. Repeat this rinse-and-drain process 2-3 times.
  3. Position for Drainage: Place the inverted jar onto the assembled black base/stand. The stand is designed to hold the jar at an angle, allowing any remaining water to drain completely and ensuring proper air circulation around the seeds. This prevents waterlogging and promotes healthy growth.
  4. Daily Rinsing: Rinse and drain your sprouts 2-3 times daily (morning and evening are ideal) using fresh, cool water. This keeps the sprouts moist and prevents bacterial growth. Always ensure thorough drainage after each rinse.
  5. Light Exposure (Greening): For most sprouts, keep them in a dark or low-light area during the initial sprouting phase. Once sprouts have developed small leaves (typically after 3-4 days), you can expose them to indirect sunlight for a day or two to encourage 'greening' and enhance nutrient content.
  6. Girbi: Sprouts are typically ready for harvest in 3-7 days, depending on the seed type. They are ready when they have reached your desired length and have developed small leaves. Rinse them one last time before consumption.
