- Attach the Microphone Mount: Securely screw the microphone mount onto a standard microphone stand. If necessary, use the included thread adapter to match your stand's threading.
- Saka Makirufo: Carefully insert the SD3 microphone into the mount. Ensure it is firmly seated but do not overtighten.
- Haɗa Cable XLR: Connect a standard XLR cable (not included) to the microphone's XLR output and to your audio interface or mixer.
- Matsayi: Position the microphone appropriately for your sound source. The compact size allows for placement in tight spaces, such as close to drum shells or guitar amplifier cabinets.

4. Operating the SD3 Microphone
The SD3 is a dynamic microphone with a cardioid polar pattern, designed to capture sound primarily from the front, reducing pickup from the sides and rear. This helps in isolating the desired sound source and minimizing bleed from other instruments.
4.1 Hemisphere Mic Modeling
The SD3 microphone is compatible with Universal Audio's Hemisphere mic modeling technology. This feature allows you to access a variety of classic microphone sounds through a software plugin (available separately or with compatible UA hardware). To utilize Hemisphere modeling:
- Install Hemisphere Plugin: Ensure the Hemisphere mic modeling plugin is installed on your computer and authorized with your Universal Audio account.
- Connect to UA Hardware: Connect your SD3 microphone to a Universal Audio audio interface that supports Hemisphere modeling.
- Zaɓi Model: Within your DAW or UA Console application, select the Hemisphere plugin on the input channel connected to the SD3. Choose from the available microphone models to shape your sound.

- Ganin Staging: Set appropriate gain levels on your audio interface or mixer to avoid clipping and ensure a strong signal.
- Tasirin kusanci: Dynamic microphones exhibit a proximity effect, where bass frequencies increase as the microphone gets closer to the sound source. Use this to your advantage or adjust positioning to achieve desired tonal balance.
- Off-Axis Rejection: Due to its cardioid pattern, positioning the microphone to point directly at the sound source and away from unwanted sounds will yield the best results.
5. Kulawa
- Tsaftacewa: Use a soft, dry cloth to clean the exterior of the microphone. Do not use liquid cleaners or solvents, as they may damage the finish or internal components.
- Ajiya: When not in use, store the microphone in its protective pouch to prevent dust accumulation and physical damage.
- Gudanarwa: Avoid dropping the microphone or subjecting it to harsh impacts, as this can affect its performance and durability.
